Pros

Flexible with your schedule & pay is decent for being an average retail job.

Cons

The employee discount is an absolute joke and the company is extremely stingy. Surprisingly for being such a religious company (don’t know if you’ve ever noticed, but the bottoms of the Forever 21 bags say “John 3 : 16” and they sell multiple items with bible verses on them) there is no military discount except for once a year on veterans day, and I find that to be absolutely ridiculous because I’ve worked for much smaller companies that aren’t affiliated with religion in any sort of way that offer military discounts all year long. Management at my store is awful. The schedule is never posted on time and communication between managers is terrible. My bosses frequently take extra breaks outside of the ones they’re already given for “Starbucks runs” and unnecessary smoke breaks that should be taken care of on the breaks they’re already given. The volume on our store phone is literally ALWAYS turned down all the way which creates huge communication problems between employees and management. Any time an employee tries to call the store to notify management that they will be late or can’t make it in, no one answers the phone because no one can hear it, and then management will start bad mouthing employees assuming they did a “no call no show” even though it’s not the employees fault that our managers insist that we keep the store phone volume all the way down all day long. I’ve only covered a small amount of the things that I think the company needs to change, and I hope my review will encourage this company to be less stingy with towards their employees and customers, and to actually take the time to look into how each store is ran to ensure that store managers and assistant managers are doing their part to be kind and fair to employees and not abusing their power by doing things such as taking extra breaks.
