Pros

Staff discount is 50% off and 30% for family.

Cons

High turnover, even for retail. Pretty unfortunate that the work environment has become what it is here. Job wasn't as advertised-"Flexible schedule and fun job." Flexibility was the one thing I was looking for but it is very, very hard to get time off/request off here. Top leadership and HR is disconnected from what is actually going on in store with the employees or just don't care. Corporate buzz words thrown around with little care for how much work it puts on front line staff. Hours are in desperate need of changing. 11:00-7:00 minimum is what you can expect most days so it's pretty hard to have any kind of life outside of working here and the store is open all seven days so there never really is any off days you can block off to be free. Don't even get me started on the borderline insulting pay. You're better off going to work at a fast food joint. Expect to not know what hours you're working until two days before and then be reprimanded for no longer being available. Disciplinary threats given for things that leadership doesn't do themselves and staff that make rules that don't actually outfit. It doesn't matter what availability you give when taking the job, you're expected to be free whenever at all times and days of the week.

Pros

-Discounts on shoes and apparel -Exposure to running industry -Good way to get sales experience if you're interested

Cons

-You are expected to take on a complicated sales role with a deep knowledge of feet, shoes, and clothing -You have to work with customers, some of whom are incredibly difficult if not outright abusive -In addition to the sales role, you also have to stock shelves, clean, order stuff, do inventory, etc. -One of the owners is incredibly micromanagerial. If she is in the store she watches you like a hawk. She gets upset whenever you have any downtime, no matter how small. She will scold you like you are a middle school student. It is incredibly demeaning. -The owners expect all of this out of you, say you're 'family', and that you're all in this together. Yet they pay minimum wage. No commission, no benefits. You make the same amount stocking shelves and listening to podcasts at Target.
