First round was a phone screening with HR recruiter who was really great. Pay wasn’t listed in the job posting…and it was extremely low. It was so low I wouldn’t consider it a livable wage and this is a job you definitely need a college degree and at least some internship experience for. I told her what my salary would need to be for me to consider moving forward. She did take this back to the team, but was unable to reach the amount I would need. I feel a little weary about companies that pay as low as they possibly can get away with so just something to consider when interviewing with them.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re glad you had a positive interaction with our recruiter and appreciated the transparency throughout the process. While we understand compensation expectations can differ, we appreciate the open conversation and feedback as we continue to evaluate our opportunities and overall candidate experience.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Fleet Feet (Hoboken, NJ)
Interview
The interview was just a conversation with the owner about availability and retail experience. Very casual, just in the store. Knowledge of running and shoes was helpful but not necessary. They had me come back another day to shadow staff for a few hours to make sure it was a good fit.
I applied online. I interviewed at Fleet Feet in Nov 2025
Interview
The communication throughout the process was clear and professional, and the screening video call felt smooth and comfortable. Overall, it was a great experience with a truly professional and welcoming team.
