Pros

There are no pro's in either staying with or joining Fiserv

Cons

Prior to the First Data merger Fiserv was a revered and respected brand but the Fiserv, in its present form, has no future for any current or prospective employee. Current employees should find the exits as quickly as possible for your own safety and mental health. New employee should avoid this company altogether. Anyone researching this company should also go to www.thelayoff.com for additional information. Do not believe to company propaganda. It may look and sound nice but it’s not truthful. The current executive management cannot see the failure of their “strategy” unless their strategy is to implode the organization and sell off the scrapes to fund their pet projects or to feather their own pockets. Executive management has over promised to the street and when the results of their failure become evident management’s reaction, in one trick pony fashion, is to enact massive irrational and incoherent layoffs across the enterprise. The executive leadership have averted their eyes to the wreckage they have created and live in their bubble. The situation of so precarious that the rebuilding Fiserv to its former glory will take years if not decades to restore. The talent not laid off have left in droves and management has enact hiring freezes exasperating the situation. The resulting impact is an over stressed workload; lack of seasoned staff for training and development; disjointed, disingenuous, or no communication from leadership; missed client deliverables; product failures, stunted product development and roll out; awful product quality; poor to no customer service; terrible client satisfaction; and plummeting employee morale. Though I am a current employee, I have had enough of this insanity, and I am actively looking to leave to preserve my dignity and mental health. If you are considering remaining or joining this company, I advise you to do your own research. This is no environment for anyone to either want to stay in or join.

Pros

There are no longer any positives working for this company. It's shocking to see how it has deteriorated in recent years.

Cons

- Ignore the CEO rating you see here as it is not reflective of the majority's opinion. There is absolutely no way that over 50% of people have faith in our senior leadership at this point. - How happy you are within your role is 100% dependent on how lucky or unlucky you get with the Manager running the team. - Blatant favouritism within certain teams in the GFS organisation. Those who speak up or challenge decisions made or communicated by their manager will be ostracised and overlooked for opportunities. A horrific environment to have to work in. - Hybrid working with 2 days per week from home is apparently permitted, but if your manager isn't in favour, they will make it very clear that those who badge in 5 days per week will be the ones to progress. They do not want to acknowledge that the work can be done just as well, if not better, remotely. - I saw some fantastic Directors and VP's be let go over the past couple of years while other highly problematic members of management have retained their positions. - Targeting of remote employees at all levels in each round of cuts. - 'We need to do more with less' has been the tag line for years now. How many more cuts to already overwhelmed teams does the leadership team think can happen before everything fails and the clients suffer? - Between redundancies and moving on to better positions elsewhere, the company has haemorrhaged talent which they cannot backfill.

Pros

The pay is good for my level of experience and job title. I like my direct team.

Cons

Where do I begin? If I can save one innocent soul from joining this company, then I’ve done my job. I joined last year and I regret it almost every day. Tracking Software: once I joined, tracking software called Sapience was installed on my laptop. It is marketed as a “productivity” application, but it is just used as a Big Brother spy app. The things it tracks are freaky, tracking down to the second the time that you spend on each website and app on your computer. The scary part is that all of this data is available to your manager, and I assume more senior level people to spy on you. It’s just uncomfortable. Upper Level Management: the CEO is just terrible. He has absolutely no regard for the employees’ well-being. Tone deaf emails are sent each week saying how much they care about us, but the C-Suite only cares about the stock price. Forced Return to Office: many employees were hired as remote employees. Before covid, there were several small offices, and during covid, these offices were closed and employees located at these offices were told that they could work remotely indefinitely. This past year, all remote employees (some of whom were remote by no fault of their own) were told that they must either relocate to their new “innovation center” in New Jersey or be fired. The hilarious part? The “innovation center” isn’t even finished being constructed. So for those who have already packed up their life and moved to NJ, they’re still remote until who knows when. For those who are already close to a “hub” location, they must go into office because badge swipes are recorded and reported. Vaccine Mandate?: the covid vaccine was mandated in order to return to office. Those who did not get the vaccine and could not get an exemption were let go from the company. Last week, an announcement came out that vaccines were no longer required for employees, so everyone who was fired back in December for not getting the vaccine were fired truly for no reason. They just needed more people gone to improve our bottom line number. I guess covid is over in management’s eyes! Brain Drain: because of the mass exodus and forced exits, so much knowledge is being lost. People who worked here 10+ years are leaving. People who worked here 6 months are leaving. It’s so hard to learn because everyone is too busy to train you. No Morale: the bottom line is that no one wants to actually work here. There is absolutely no culture. No one wants to be in the office because teams are scattered across the world, so sitting in a freezing cold office filled with fluorescent overhead lighting is pointless. There is no benefit to being in the office. With the current job market, please consider looking elsewhere. I wish I read these reviews before joining.
