Pros

Some very nice co-workers. I gave it a one rating. It's more like 1.5 because of this.

Cons

Terrible decision making by "leadership" who are not remotely clued in. General lack of respect for employees. Very cliquish. Awful morale. Working in what is supposedly a FD leading research centre, poor technical knowledge and industry experience. Leads to failed projects and feeds back to poor morale. Poor benefits, no work from home or flexi time. Some teams have to work very long hours. No training. Lack of career progression. Not a meritocracy. Lots of corporate and HR bs.

Pros

Telecommuting allowed to ease cost of travel.

Cons

Pay increases only apply to upper management and not the workers that carry the day to day workload that makes the money for the company. Health insurance deductible gets higher every year while base salary doesnt increase. 1% increase only if you're lucky for most. Cant afford to be sick anymore between what insurance doent pay and the meager salary you bring home. Cost of living increases and million dollar bonuses are only for executives. Top management only concerned with numbers for stockholders, no concern for the quality of life of the workers. More jobs being outsourced putting Americans off the payroll to show profits for shareholders. Upper level making process changes are out of touch with actual processes in their ivory tower. Giving you a free bagel once a week instead of a decent wage. False publicity stating voted one of Forbes best companies to work for un America . HR organization is a joke, only for protection of Fiserv. Complain and find yourself out of a job. Sad when your weekends aren't yours anymore because your so overburdened with work and made to feel you're lucky to have a job. Depression sets in on Sunday. Layoffs are a regular event now, not a matter of if, just when.

We are very disappointed to hear this kind of feedback, and it has been shared with appropriate local HR resources so we can begin to address this as we strive to continue to excel as a FORTUNE™ Most Admired Company, an accolade we work very hard to achieve and take very seriously.

Toxic - Steer clear

Pros

The worker bees are generally great people to work with.

Cons

It has become an extremely oppressive environment to work. As a director, you would assume that I would have some control over how I manage my direct reports, but that is simply not the case. Everything is dictated and closely monitored by senior management. One misstep and your position will be eliminated, regardless of your title, knowledge or ability. Fiserv manages by threats and bullying. The morale of my staff is at an all-time low and sadly, there isn't a thing I can do about it without risking my own job. I have been at Fiserv for 20+ years and really believed that I would retire from Fiserv, but the Fiserv I grew to love is a thing of the past. I don't recognize what we have morphed into since the First Data takeover. I am actively planning my exit strategy.
