Pros

Make your own hours, to an extent. Support from management is alright, but difficult when you're in different time zones.

Cons

Commission only, and plan to spend about $1,000.00 per week on leads, none are provided for free. The majority of leads you get (from any source) will not know why you're calling. They will deny asking for the information, hang up on you, or say they were told it was free, because the script provided by the company says "State Regulated" life insurance program. You have to go to people's houses, and that can be uncomfortable. You'll drive an hour to an appointment, and more times than not they either don't answer the door, or don't purchase the insurance. It can be extremely exhausting and discouraging, especially when you're not making any money. Company does provide "discounted" leads, but will not refund you if the number is disconnected. If someone hangs up on you or is rude to you on the phone, they will want you to go to their house and knock on their door. This job is HIGH PRESSURE sales, be prepared. I don't doubt it that some people do really well, the potential is there...just not for people on a limited income that aren't really aggressive. Also, be prepared to work 6-7 days per week. You will need to work A LOT to get ahead.

We have one of the most dynamic lead programs in our industry. We are also very upfront in regards to our leads and our entire process. Usually when someone has the point of view that there is an issue with our leads or process we find that the individual did not put in enough work or they didn't utilize our massive training library.

Pros

For the most part Family First Life is a positive environment. They have great comps. Even with hardly producing, I made 95%. I can make my own hours. No cold calling. Leads provided from your upline for the first 30 days. They are trying to add in additional services for agents to provide. If you are experienced and don't need much training or guidance, I highly recommend.

Cons

There is a huge disconnect between uplines and what the company is trying to accomplish. Right now they are pushing to hire hire hire. Your training consists of videos (some are great) and what your direct upline provides or has time for. Their strongly suggested schedule doesn't work well for my situation (call Mon and Thurs and run the other days). The company wants you to go out and get exposed to several products, but if your upline isn't ready to coach you in those products you will be discouraged from selling them. I was told specifically not to sell annuities, IUL, and even mortgage protection. Expect to buy leads, but from wherever you like (not necessarily a con). You depend so much on your upline, so interview them and see what they are knowledgeable about and comfortable selling. Make sure they will be available for you because I once sat in a house for a half hour trying to get rates for a customer with my direct upline unavailable and no other contact numbers.

Thank you for your feedback, we do encourage any agent that is not getting the support they need from their upline to contact us at the corporate office so we can help.
