Pros

Finance products information exposure when at the company

Cons

Worst onboarding experience with zero management support. I was thrown into the fire with an expectation to navigate on my own with no lay of the land and no introductions to the group of people I had to work with. There was no team allocated to me even though I was at a senior level and the one team member assigned to me after weeks into the job who came with no Agile knowledge and background to support the work needs. The manager I was reporting into never met me to discuss vision and road map. The manager never attended any of our 1:1s and never showed up to my quarterly connects. There was never a conversation about my performance as the manager never showed up to my one in ones. The countless requests to allocate a team and help with getting introduced to the leadership went into an abyss. There was practically no team, no management support and zero vision setting and road map discussions to help my onboarding or ongoing work yet at the end of year, there was feedback that the performance did not meet expectations. This was the very first time I had heard anything about the progress of my work in the absence of no ongoing reviews and discussions. The countless requests to allocate a team and need for management support went unheard and unaddressed.

Thank you for your candid feedback and for sharing that you appreciate the exposure to various finance products at FIS. Regarding your negative onboarding experience, at FIS we are committed to making sure our employees’ voices are heard which is why we deploy People Surveys for employees to address their concerns. Managers at all levels can view comments and results in aggregate so they are aware of improvements needed. We have also started a program of work in the last 6 months to improve the colleague welcome experience, in particular how to quickly learn and know how to navigate FIS, having listened to colleagues' voices. And we have shared your post with our people partner team in the U.S.. along with our onboarding task force who will take your feedback into consideration as we redesign the onboarding experience.

Pros

- The people you work with a generally very competent and collaborative - Direct management is very responsive and helpful for things they can directly control - Adequate benefits, though they keep adding things that virtually no one will ever use

Cons

- Pay is terrible whatever pay you get hired at don’t expect it change much. Going on 3+ years of virtually zero increases and pay for anyone. They are trying to cut staffing levels using the strategy away for them to get rid of people without paying severance. - C suite essentially bankrupted the finances of the company to their acquisition greed. They all got massive bonuses for hitting their super easy to attain targets re: the world pay acquisition, and now it’s being spun off… basically defrauding investors and employees & blaming it on nebulous “Covid” - Expect your job responsibilities to continuously, expand due to staffing cuts brought on by incompetent C level

Pros

They pay fairly close to market

Cons

Managers are horrible, they manage by bullying their team members. If you don't know something, like their homegrown systems you do not get any proper training because it seems like no one really knows all the ins and outs. Management expects you to learn as you go, which is fine in some situations but if you ask too many questions you are punished. So you just work, try your best, make things up - because asking for help is frowned upon. I have never ever in my career seen this. Human Resources does not protect employees, they get so much negative feedback about managers yet do nothing. There is no semblance of a team or working together to exchange knowledge. If i didn't need a paycheck i would be gone. But i am looking, just like most people i speak to here.
