Pros

The management and upper management go out of their way to help you personally so it does not affect your work. Lots of group activities and moral boosters. Great benefits all around includes gym and theme park discounts.

Cons

Don't expect a promotion unless your in good with management. I see a lot of "It's not what you know (or do) its who you know (or do)" Salaries could be a bit higher due to cost of living but they are by no means low. Raises are usually minimal when they are in effect.

Big company, but limited opportunities

Pros

FNIS is a large company with good technology and many sales opportunities with some of the largest banks and financial institutions. If you have good technical skills or can acquire them on your own, you'll be in demand for many projects where you can exercise technical and professional leadership. Sadly, real career growth opportunities are limited, but FNIS experience can be valuable for gaining a better position in another company.

Cons

Even though FNIS is a large company, opportunities for career growth and development are pretty limited. The push to move work offshore (to India) seems to have slowed somewhat, but most groups within the U.S. seem to be slowly shrinking, with few open positions and few opportunities for promotions or movement from one group to another. Benefits are probably slightly below average for a company this size. Pay increases are typically limited to 3-4% annually and no increases were given in 2008. Work/life balance is generally poor - it's common for projects to assume employees will be working evenings and weekends.

Pros

Large company - with many different divisions which allows for ample growth opportunities. I worked in a slow growth division and still provided opportunities for advancement and promotion. Pay was inline with other similar companies and the work environment provided a fair work/life balance. As with any company office politics persist, but star performers are rewarded. Promote from within philosophy is enforced and outsiders are a last resort. Promotion is not based on tenure or age, but on performance. Management attempts to maintain employee morale even through difficult times - benefit cuts and layoffs. Overall a good place to work.

Cons

Shareholder friendly company that meets Wall Street demands at the expense of employee benefits and layoffs.
