Pros

You'll be trained with the tools and skills necessary to do you job. Salary is way better than other federal agencies. For air traffic controllers salary is even better.

Cons

In my opinion there are not cons besides the excruciating training and stress of not passing evaluations. Once you're beyond that point, you're pretty much set if you stay healthy.

Pros

Friendly environment, highly educated staff, diverse mission, possibility of moving across the country and world, good location on metro and downtown.

Cons

Overly bureaucratic, very large staff so it is difficult to know everyone in your field, sometimes silos workers, headquarters building is rather decrepit, hard to move up payscale.
