Pros

The Federal Aviation Administration has an excellent pay and benefits package. Air Traffic Controllers have an 20/25 year retirement. The job is extremely rewarding.

Cons

There are several cons to being an air traffic controller. First, air traffic control is a 24/7 business. This means you are required to work shift work and holidays. This doesn't sound like much, but you may be working while the rest of the world is watching their kids ball games.
