Pros

The pay is above average but is dependent on location and facility level(how busy the facility is). The benefits include Cadillac heath plans. The retirement is pretty good.

Cons

Pay is dependent on federal government funding. There have been threats the last few years of furloughs. It can be difficult to get time off due to staffing.

Pros

Very stable. Almost impossible to lose your job.

Cons

Politics. No consequences for doing poorly (workers, management, HR, everyone). Very poor work culture with no urgency and no fear of job security for poor work performance.
