I joined ExxonMobil straight out of college a few years ago. I thought it was going to be my dream job. It has been hell. I have done only administrative work for my bosses the past few years. I have done nothing to improve my skills as an engineer (is it because I am a girl? maybe). They even put me in a marketing role for a few months because they ran out of work for me to do. Now I am in a new role to "broaden my skills" that does not interest me at all. They took none of my inputs on what I wanted to do. This place destroys any motivation you may have had to make a difference with your career.

System is Corrupt to the core. Engineers are promoted based on who is their sponsor as opposed to demonstrated value added to business. Meaningless daily emphasis on QI, NLI, LPSA, JLA. Management has zero clue on what is valuable for bottom line and shallow Technical depth to merely parrot what is being said by higher ups.
