Pros

It works... sometimes. Sometimes you will probably see professionals there, but you'll be lucky

Cons

I was ok with basic salary and even more basic health insurance. However, December 1st 2013 some genius from this company sent a full spreadsheet in open format with personal data, SSNs and salary rates somewhere outside. Only January 15th they bothered to send a mail notification to former and current employees and I did not see any appologe there. So if you care about your personal data and identity theft, try to find other recruiters - usually there's a bunch of them who could send your resume to potential employer.

Pros

They pay ontime, benefits are not the worst in the industry but has a very low coverage limit and high deductables, but fair for a contract firm. I pay the benefits premium every month, they don't contribute but maybe $50 total if at all, so who cares, get benefits from anywhere is better than their coverage for the price.

Cons

4 years ago I was very happy with APEX, in fact they were my sole recruiter I worked through. Since their merger, I have even had to talk to their corporate director about issues of non-response, bad relationships with recruiters that ONLY want to talk to you when they have an opportunity they want to talk to you about. Even when I was submitted to a position, they just went dark, no updates on progress or status, no email reply, no voicemail call backs. If I was not an immediate potential risk to them NOT making a commission that day, they don't know you! Stay clear, unless you are desperate for just any treatment. Me, a person that draws a very high rate and thus a good comission for them when I am in an engagement through them, I jumped ship, I don't need the head aches. I have been placed through another competitor and very happy. In fact, now in a full time position in a Fortune 50 company, no help from APEX!!!

Pros

They hire entry level, lots of free lunches, and there is chance for good commission depending on the reqs they put you on.

Cons

They set the same production goals for everyone, whether or not you have been there a week or have been there for 5 years; or whether you are working on Senior Team Lead Java Developers or Tier 1 help desk positions. Their training program is nothing more than power-points and conference calls, and after you have wasted a month in training you are thrown to the lions den and are expected to make miracles happen. They do not allow for any sort of learning curve and fired me after about 4 weeks of actual recruiting. Most of the Account managers have only been out of college for less than 18 months and were promoted to that position after only 6-8 months of recruiting. They definitely play favorites and with an office of mostly sorority girls there is bound to be cliques and gossip. It is a very cut-throat working environment based entirely on your number of submittals. Your job is never secure, for every 2 people they hire 1 is fired.
