If all is running smoothly, it's a good company...

Pros

Pay was always on time and they leave you alone.

Cons

Even if something important comes up where someone from the company should contact you, they still don't! You're pretty much left high and dry unless you know exactly what you need and who to talk to. The contract was moving to Louisiana and Apex just dropped us without any assistance in finding another contract for those that decided to stay in the DFW area. You'd think they would want to keep us on the payroll but apparently, they just didn't care. They must be making good money to just let employees slip away.

Pros

Salary if you negotiate well. They will low ball you so stand your ground on hourly rate. Don't add in benefits when you negotiate your rate. They may or may not be there later.

Cons

They nickle and dime the consultants. Taking away benefits that were offered during the hiring process. There is no respect for the consultants that work for them. All they care about is that you keep making them money. - Instead of upgrading the medical insurance to meet state standards they got an extension from the state. The cost of the policy is more then what you could find on your own with considerably less coverage. - Offered 1 week sick time but found out later they were not required to and took back any accrued sick time. - Offered 3.5% match and took that away. Note, they were making record profits but continue to find ways to short change the consultants.

Pros

They are quick in placing you in a company. But read the con section to learn more than the quickness.

Cons

So you decided that you can't handle your existing job or boss or management and started looking for an opportunity. It has been a bumpy ride and then you got a call from someone in Apex and the role sounded amazing and you decided to give it a shot. The next thing you know, you cracked the interview and then you are at work in your new company, most likely as a contractor to begin with. Yes, they are quick. But - there is more than quickness to their story. They are like piranha's when you want a job, After your life till you sign the documents. If you have any questions post joining - no one will answer to your email or phone calls. Cause they don't give a damn. I was given an opportunity for conversion to full time with my existing company. But apex wanted to make more money out of me so they convinced the client - conversion at this point is not a good idea. Seriously? You are nothing but a piece of financial transaction for them. I regret joining Apex and anyone who is on work permit - please don't consider them and mess your immigration papers.
