      Pros

      It's a company that has grown tremendously over the past 20-30 years, with many of the people who have helped to make it grow still working within the company. This means there are a lot of very nice, caring people working within the company. Employees have access to great benefits and can also own shares in a very interesting structure through Valoptec, an employee ownership association within the company. The company is the world leader with offices throughout the world.

      Cons

      The company has grown through acquisitions, which means that in some regions the direction is spotty. There has been a drastic change in the company in recent year and the focus has shifted from helping independent Eye Care Professionals to ensuring shareholders get interesting results from the stock. This means that the company has launched products quicker with potentially less testing as it should have had, diminishing the overall quality.
