Pros

Some of the best reasons to work for Enterprise is that you dont have to have previous experience and you can become a manager in a very short amount of time depending on how self-motivated you are. This career path is best for the new college graduate who just wants to gain management experience. You will most certainly learn how to manage time and money ie expenses. A lot of companies look to Enterprise employees for managers too. So once you become a branch manager your "stock" goes up and you sould easily be able to move to another company for an actual career. But all in all its a good starting point. Also, i will note that the health benefits are pretty good and they dont cost employees that much.

Cons

The down sides of working for Enterprise are big down sides. You work a 50 (sometimes 50+) work week and as you progress this doesnt change. This is the norm for Enterprise employees. While the company stresses work life balance, it is hardly practiced. Another downfall is the pay. Enterprise is great at floating the "golden carrot" in front of your face telling you "dont give up" and " stick with it" and you will earn the big bucks. This can be true if you are at the right place at the right time for about 5 years. That is to say if you can take it for that long. And once you are there, the real question is "is it worth it" because now that you have been promoted your position is more volitale and you are still working 50+ work weeks. My advice is once you get to branch manager status get out and take your experience to a company that will compensate you for your hard work.

Pros

It is a great place to start a career.

Cons

Long hours for WAY lower than average pay for any U.S. city. The opportunity is there to make a lot of money but you have to be ready for a lot of stress.

Pros

It is a well established company and leader in the insurance rental market. Enterprise-rent-a-car has been regarded as one of the best places to launch your career by Businessweek Magazine. With this company there is a lot of room for advancement if you are fully dedicated to the training program. It is an easy job to get right out of college as they hire a ton of entry level trainees from college career fairs. Due to the large number of locations, you can basically choose any city you want to start your career at. However, in order to advance in your career, you must be willing to relocate when a new position opens up at a location.

Cons

With the good, there usually is a bad side. First off, work life balance is pretty non-existent. The hours are M-F 7-6:30, if all the customers are done being serviced. You are also required to work every other saturday from 8-3. That equals to about 60 hours a week. They claim the pay to be salary at $30,000 a year, but it's actually $9.00/ hour. You have the ability to make $30,000 after all the over time and commissions for selling insurance waivers. The problem with the job was the fact that they have you do grunt work in professional business attire. They have college graduates washing cars in a suit, I don't think so. You don't make enough to purchase a new suit.
