Pros

Great courses that are easy for teachers to understand. A friendly and supportive staff. Development and progression opportunities for foreign teachers Lots of protection that other teachers in different training centers don't have such as flight allowance, tax, health insurance and other assistance.

Cons

Winter and summer courses at times can be tough as it is a lot of hours. Marketing days can sometimes be quite daunting if you are not use to speaking/performing in public or if you are just shy.

Pros

Good office tech + admin services very efficient (e.g., pay on time). Students are very motivated. Colleagues from all over the world are very interesting and great fun.

Cons

The Chinese managers are arrogant scam artists who give the otherwise excellent EF brand a truly bad name. They treat their employees very poorly, esp., the Chinese, and they are pathological liars. You cannot trust a word they say.

Pros

*'Relatively' good salary for ESL teacher in China, compared to other English schools. However, when you calculate what your hourly rate actually is, it's not very high. *Arranges visa and all other required paperwork for working in China *Provides help finding apartment *One roundtrip airfare per year *Weekly group Chinese class

Cons

*Many EF schools in China are just franchises of the actual EF company - therefore salary and benefits are not as good as working for the 'actual' EF company *Only 10 days paid holidays per year *Only the first three days of sick leave are fully paid. 4-30 days are paid at 60%. *Class reports can be time-consuming, especially for larger classes. *Heavy workload: Average 16-24 teaching hours per week, plus class preparation time, plus travel time to/from classes at different client locations. *Travel time to/from client locations can be time-consuming.
