Pros

If you drink the Kool-Aid, you’d feel ‘lucky’ to be able to work there, surrounded by like-minded people.

Cons

Low-paying for the same position. Preferential treatments towards expatriate staff were painfully obvious, especially the pay gap when compared to local staff. Local staff on average only earned a measly 1/5 of what expatriate staff earn. Working on the weekends very often.

Salaries are reviewed to make sure they keep in mind cost of living and competitiveness within the market and we acknowledge that there are differences in packages for local and international staff. This is not intended as a preferential treatment but takes into consideration the startup and ongoing costs of relocation to a foreign country. Your feedback however is appreciated.

Pros

You will gain lots of experience in a low-pressure environment. The students are motivated and fun to teach. Materials are good and pre-made.

Cons

Some EFs will send you off to elementary/high schools in the morning, split shifts can be tiring. Some teachers work insane hours without many breaks, but it depends on the school.
