Pros

As a local Indonesian, you get to meet and make friends with co-workers that come from all other parts of the world.

Cons

A very visible unfairness in terms of paycheck and other benefits between local teacher and international teacher. Given the weight of responsibilities and the qualifications needed to do the same type of job, the company should not differentiate the payment that they give to their employees. 1 : 3 times comparison in what people make each time is not fair and it will not help in building any positive attitude or work place atmosphere between colleagues. It will give negative impacts on the culture and the quality of the company in the long run.

Pros

They will like only white people. If you are white this is great for you!

Cons

They will only treat white people like gods. If you are darker than white you will be harassed, watched like a criminal, ignored and forced into slavery like conditions.

Pros

- Pay is always on time -Lots of opportunity to progress within Academic Partnerships, teachers are often promoted to senior teachers or similar within 2 or 3 semesters. -They run a few workshops each semester in order to improve specific aspects of teaching, although these are not always well attended. - Nice of them to offer a salary advance when you first arrive.

Cons

- Salary isn't very high compared to other teaching jobs in Shanghai, and it is particularly tough during long breaks in Spring and Summer where you are paid a fraction of your monthly salary.
