Pros

Mandatory TKT certificates which will be great for my career development outside of EF. Good reputation amongst other schools. Paid on time.

Cons

Sketchy management practices. Micromanagement is incredibly prevalent. NO transparency with visa practices when leaving. You WILL be overworked. No accountability or clear chain of command to report issues to. Salaries are nowhere near what is promised online. They read your contract very carefully and record all communication with your DOS and center managers. They often lie.

Pros

Great support to help establish your life in China, good pay in relation to the living expenses, help with the visa process, weekly teacher training, opportunities for growth and sponsorships to pursue further education

Cons

Weekends are your busiest days with Mon/Tue or Tue/Wed being your days off; heavily stacked class schedules; schedules constantly shifting

Thank you for your review. We're glad you had great setup support when you first arrived in China, we want to ensure a smooth transition for our teachers especially during their first few weeks. We're also proud of providing extensive training and development opportunities. Some jobs do require Saturday and Sunday work since this is the time our students are not in their regular schools and are available to study. This means that days off fall during the week which we understand is not ideal for many people. Thanks again for taking the time to post a review. We wish you the best in your future endeavors.

Pros

The students are great & the variety found teaching people all around the world.

Cons

Terrible management (micro-managing, patronising, very little room for growth), the company takes a huge cut out of the money you make, they pay you dependent on your location (which did not work out in my favour), in flexible working hours... oh the list is long.
