Pros

Goodwill will hire individuals who have barriers to employment and provide them with a competitive hourly rate. Benefits were good. Goodwill has invested in hiring real retail professionals recently and the disruption of the retail culture in place to a more productive results based culture has begun. Accountability what a concept!

Cons

Company is in transition the retail component 21 stores locally are struggling to meet sales expectations. New upper management hires such as Director of Retail may bring this wandering vessel back on course to profitability. Some of the austerity plans proposed such as limiting full time hours to 35 a week are a bit harsh but seem to be the answer for slowing sales volume? Store level management with few exceptions are mediocre at best and are the result of a lack of cohesive leadership plan. Company empowers employees and thats great but allows dissent and unqualified opinions to distract the team from its goals.
