Pros

Brand as a respected company for your CV

Cons

They treat support services as second class citizens. Yes, many law firms do this, but DLA Piper do this with style. Never felt valued, always under pressure and too much red tape and politics to get anything moving. If you want a career in Marketing, look elsewhere! Essentially felt like I was easily replaceable, and that anybody else in the team could just be plucked from the shelf and replaced as well.

Pros

- Excellent pay and benefits - Flexibility with the hybrid schedule (depending on your practice group) - Easy to build community with other assistants and paralegals

Cons

- Easy to fall into burnout due to understaffing in assistant/paralegal positions - Be prepared for an unexpectedly higher or lower workload at any point. - D.C. location is particularly strict about the hybrid expectations - A bit disorganized as a whole when it comes to onboarding and training for your particular practice group.
