Pros

- Work can be technically challenging sometimes. - Good medical benefits (although company is trying to make it worse). - Nice retirement plans. - Job security (for good and bad employees).

Cons

- Poor leadership in all levels. Bad decisions. - No perspective of evolution. Career growth is virtually non existent. - Bonuses are not attractive. - Working hours is excessive. Little time flexibility and no home office option, making difficult to balanced professional and private life. - Working environment looks like from the 60s. If the noise of the factory was not enough, rooms are packed with more than 50 people working together speaking loud. Old furniture, horrible chairs and tables. Dirty bathrooms. - Incompetent people hardly is fired affecting others motivation in being productivity. Performance evaluation is worthless and the company does not know how to retain talents. - Archaic and Bureaucratic business processes. - They told you the company is global, but it's not. They don't stimulate international exchange between units. Sites are all segregated. - Horrible food in cafeteria and lunch refectory. No option to have a decent lunch nearby most units. - HR is a joke. Very poor communication. - The company offers transportation, but it is not air conditioned. Buses are ridiculously hot especially in summer days (temperature is like 32ºC or 90ºF most of time).

Pros

Low pressure environment OK work/life balance Good medical benefits Work can be technically challenging

Cons

Embraer is best viewed as a family business disguised as a large company. Meaning that most influential people know each other very intimately, and as such, will often place friends and family in position of power. Consequently, people outside their social network are rarely hired at all, and even if they are, it can be quite difficult to get any kind of promotion.

Pros

Very challenging and interesting environment. I learn a lot every day. Probably one of the best places to work as an engineer in Brazil.

Cons

Slow career. Often politics play a major role in the relationship between corporate divisions. A few very dedicated people work extra hard to compensate for a significant amount of underperformers. Pay in the beginning is ok, but evolution is slow (and stops after a few years).
