Pros

Work from home. Bosses are so lazy and disconnected you will never see them as long as your customers don't call and complain about you.

Cons

On call 24/7 They have a poor understanding of individual state laws pertaining to employee rights. Such as sick time, vacation carry over etc. In response to the new legislation regarding salary exempt status they made everyone hourly with a variable rate and used it as an oppurtunity to lower wages by about 10% for the same production we were doing even though they posted over 6 billion in profits in 2015. They have a belief that management doesnt need to know pest control, just how to manage people They cater to corporate customers offering free service off of our sweat. This hurts more now with the new variable rate that is tied into our invoiving production. Run, dont walk.

Pros

Company Vehicle with all expenses paid. Good not Great Benefits. Benefits are changing (not for the better) frequently.

Cons

High Pressure to made additional sales daily/weekly/monthly/yearly! Like many jobs, it becomes very repetitive and OLD! Causes some reps to sell items, which include chemicals and related products that aren't needed. Ecolab management runs on the EPS mindset. While they want to take care of the customer, it's all with the Stock Market in mind. This company works employees to the bone. Very poor work/life balance. This means that you're on call 24/7/365 unless you have another associate cover for you. This can be difficult. You're on call until at least 11PM daily unless it's a large customer .. Corporate will call you at any time of the night! That SUCKS!! Actually there are to many cons to list!!!

Pros

-You make your own schedule. -If you enjoy traveling, then this job is for you. -You get your own company car. -Corporate credit card and gas card.

Cons

-While the company tries to solve internal problems by making associates believe their views matter, Ecolab avoids the fact that the salaries they offer do not even remotely align with the industry average. -Territories in districts are rarely ever completely filled, resulting in management squeezing every work hour out of you to finish up the open territory at any cost. -While told that the district is a team and that help is only a call or email away, when in dire straits, the only thing that is given is threats and offers to give overtime to get the job done. This includes working on weekends and holidays. -While getting a great deal of overtime is a positive in my opinion; after taking advantage of the offers for overtime (after having to cover another open territory) you will get hounded by your manager with emails threatening you to stay under your 40 hour work week (impossible if you have to cover an open territory). After working for 5 hours past the 40 hour work week, your manager will barrage you with emails threatening no bonus for the entire team if the overtime isn't brought under control. While understandable, it is confusing and stressful when overtime is touted as the answer to the understaffing problem.
