      telecommuting, ability to set one's own hours to a certain extent

      Cons

      low pay, no benefits, poor communication between headquarters and employees, workplace harassment goes unchecked, production quotas place undue stress on employees & promote sub-par accuracy.

      Pros

      you have some selection over your hours and can work from home.

      Cons

      1.they keep decreasing the hourly rate, with little notice. 2. Tech and content support is hard to contact 3.schedules are erratic; you are notified with 1 days notice that you are to work the next day in some cases, and are rarely notified that the project is ending soon.

      Impersonal & lowered rater pay with no reason

      Flexible and used to pay adequately, but no pros other than that

      ETS sent an impersonal, robotic email to GRE raters in January 2018 lowering their pay from $20/hour to $15/hour. There was no warning and no apology -- just a link to a survey about whether or not we wanted to continue working there. The GRE scoring "team" was robotic at best and their policies were 100% opaque. Training was minimal. Feedback was minimal. Work was brain-numbing and you have no idea how you are doing. No information about advancement opportunities. You do not feel like a human working for them.
