Pros

Lots of great people across the organization Great brands to work with, product allowance, and a bar in the office! Well respected organization Decent salary and good benefits. Generally, culture is collaborative and supportive Good opportunities for new roles or global transfers if you're in that 'club' of influence - You don't get them by being good at your job.

Cons

A lot of pressure put on managers - and if your manager is not good, you're experience will not be. Limited opportunities for growth Corp head office is is a terrible location - inaccessible by public transport Lack of senior leadership and and clarity in priorities Very internally focused A lot of change afoot A lot of long stayers (and lifers) make change and fresh ideas difficult to implement

Pros

Great iconic brands - company benefits, healthcare

Cons

The interview process - Diageo has a strong culture and moral code for a Dignity at work Policy. Personal experience has demonstrated that this is only when it really suits them. HR are very poor if I'm honest, over 4 separate occasions the delays - the lack of internal communication is overwhelming. The direction internally seems lost and there is an inner circle from networking to face fits scenario. 1 month waiting to hear anything - roles that are advertised, then pulled, then someone fills internally without consultation. Treated from a headhunted high performer to just cut out completely and financially ruined isn't in any company values I've seen however has happened to me. I'm sure Ivan isn't aware of the condition of the business leaders he heads up.

Pros

Compensation and benefits are excellent Free drinks Flexible work arrangements depending on role and manager

Cons

Extremely short-term results driven. Senior management keeps pushing to hit unrealistic targets and forcing action that is doing long-term harm to business Culture of keeping the status quo, resistant to change. Easier to do nothing say nothing and stay unnoticed. Work life balance is non-existent in some teams Sales driven, not marketing driven company Every market does their own thing so a lot of complexity IT systems are terrible, difficult to get basic numbers Talks about valuing and training people but doesn't deliver. There is zero role transition.
