Pros

Some of the colleagues I met.

Cons

The workload is overwhelming due to the number of properties comparing to the PM’s that the company employs. I had several landlords comment on the staff turnaround and not feeling confident in the company due to the turnover. From the time I started and left, all but one of my 15 colleagues have now left the company. I was promised promotions but only if I didn’t hang out with colleagues outside of work, not be on WhatsApp groups and to become a person that they want you to be. The management style is very hitler youth. They want you to be dexters and not an individual. The heads of the company are ruthless and rude, no respect for their employers opinions and needs. They consistently dangle the carrot of promotion and only offer it once you hand in your notice. Lots of false promises. Poor base salary, no incentives, no staff drinks after work as all managers are told not to hang around with their team. The whole company is toxic and all these false reviews are not fooling anyone.

Pros

Some of the people who I worked with were great … others not so much

Cons

Pays better elsewhere compared to other agencies dexters is one of the worst. Culture is very toxic, dexters have no concept of a work life balance. I had to put up with a lot of cheeky comments from various directors at the company.

Thank you for your review and appreciate your experience with us has not gone how you wanted it to. I am glad you had some good experiences with some of your colleagues. We do have a People/HR team that supports the business and our colleagues who have an open door policy. brandonvanderwesthuizen@dexters.co.uk

Pros

-Fellow employees aside from management are wonderful people.

Cons

-There is no training for property managers. The company talks about it's training academy, but essentially you just get a day of watching videos on how to be a great Dexter's employee. - It's essentially a brainwashing camp that tells you to ignore all the red flags you are seeing because the company is quite big. - Poor relationships between the lettings teams and property managers. - Systems are old and outdated - Processes change on a weekly basis without proper notification. It is impossible to keep up to date on them. -Progression for property management is horrendous. - Management do not care about the issues going on and prefer the stick to the carrot treatment when things are going wrong. -On the surface the company likes to give off the whole "one big happy family vibe". In actuality this does not exist. - This is one of the worst paying companies in the industry and the promise of job security is a lie. The company sent out an email saying everyone's job was safe two weeks before making mass redundancies (which were not down to financial issues as the company had just bought two other businesses and had its best week&month for revenue in lettings and sales). On top of this the company chose to cut staff that could have been put on furlough as they could not be bothered to go through the process. -Diversity is non existent. - The company will just move you to another office where they see fit and usually you will have no say in the matter.
