Pros

Big4 experience is a plus on your CV. There is some good people there that you can learn a lot from. Fun way to start your career if you are ready to put down the hours.

Cons

Lack of respect for lower level employees. Promotions and pay rises not linked to competence or performance. Office politics and your ability to align yourself with the right people is the only thing that will drive your career forward here. There is a significant gap between what senior management says and how strategy is implemented by the lower levels of management. By promoting based on office politics rather than ability there are some truly horrible managers / directors / partners with social skills that makes you wonder if they shouldn't really be committed to an institution.

Pros

They pay your salary on time

Cons

Under the pretense of harmonisation of benefits, all existing benefits were eroded and removed. No more flexible work from home, no more flexi dress code in office, no more flexi leave where we were entrusted with an unlimited amount of leaves. Now its a meagre 15 days for staff level. Salary was known to be below average compared to other big 4 firms. Promotion is like hunger games + gachapon in real life. You are benchmarked against shady criteria and the promotion results are not individual merit based. If you are looking for a stable career trajectory post graduation, find another place. All you get from this place is poor benefits, poor work life balance, poor mental health, and keeps you financially poor.

Pros

Lots of great learning resources to get quickly up to speed; knowledgeable consultants; great benefits;

Cons

The general culture is EXTREMELY CLOSE MINDED especially while integrating senior level roles. I had multiple conversations with new partners and SMs and they told me that it took them years to feel fully integrated. I came in with 15+ years of Big 4 experience and they still couldn't trust me to lead projects, which in turn impacted my utilization, and ultimately they used that as an excuse for a layoff. Another important point. They hired me knowing full well that I was a new mom with a two year old. They told me they will help me to integrate considering that I might not be able to spend an 80 hour work week. But after getting hired I found that this was ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE. I was pitted against male senior managers, none of whom were in my situation and could work way more hours than I could, and on way more opportunities and pursuits. So I found myself in a really bad situation and ultimately I just knew that this would end up with them letting me go. So I took a "do nothing, say nothing approach" and waited for fate to take its course.
