Pros

-Decent starting salary -Solid benefits -Exposure to smart people (clients and colleagues) -Move up the ladder quickly -Constantly changing set of challenges and skillsets (not boring)

Cons

-Pay raises are very structured and not commensurate with what the market is willing to pay outside the Big 4. -Work/Life balance is sometimes an illusion -I've never worked so hard in my life (and by hard, I mean long) -People burn out very quickly (it sometimes feels like you're on Survivor)

Pros

Decent pay, ability to work internationally, ability to work from home on Fridays, above average social events (as long as the company is making money)

Cons

Basically the job required a ton of time, multiple weeks, weekends, and holidays to be spent at client site even when no work was being done. Far more concerned with the appearance of "hard-work" than the delivery of quality work.

Pros

First job out of college - it gets to exposure to different industries and the corporate world. It also pays well if you're a humanities major. If you're a technical major, go get another job - they don't pay enough here for the hours that you'll be working (50-70 per week). But if you like to talk a lot and have really great people skills, you'll fit in. If you like substance and being in charge of your work, this isn't the place.

Cons

Analysts - Sen. Consultants are from top-tier universityes. Managers and above are old-timers from industry from community colleges. So you have these kind of people managing bring new graduates. Another downside is the micromanagement. Since you're on billable hours, you don't get to take an hour lunch if your manager is working 12 inches away from you crammed into a work station. Basically, you're under a microscope the entire time.
