Pros

Getting to play dress up with Brides and Prom Girls If the store is really dead, you can try on wedding dresses

Cons

Can be hard to make commission outside of Bridal Christmas - have to average over $150 an hour just to even get 1%. Impossible to get time off or plan life - you'll end up being scheduled days you had off and harassed on your days off to cover someone who didn't show up. Weekends are a MUST are will be 8-9 hour shifts. Brides that don't know what they want and will spend hours trying on dresses, or girls that aren't even engaged and just want to play dress up will screw over any chance of commission and you are expected to sell NO MATTER WHAT (even if the girl isn't engaged or has only been engaged for a few days and the wedding isn't for years) Brides will wait until 2 weeks before their wedding and expect you to find a wedding dress and matching dresses for their entire bridal party in time.

Pros

nothing, once in a while you will get a customer that adores you for finding her wedding dress but a lot of girls are rude inconsiderate witches.

Cons

Everything! This is a telemarketing job! You are required to make 25 phone calls a day every single day you work. I have been told that you are supposed to call the brides everyday until they answer the phone. Pay is awful! For the amount of responsibility wedding consultants are given the pay doesn't even come close. Management is a JOKE. I know how to do more than my own managers. The goals that they give you are un real sometimes. Nothing is ever good enough. If you are the top seller in your store that's not good enough because you didn't sell enough credit cards. Or if you make the most appointments out of anyone in the store that isn't good enough because you didn't sell enough preservation kits. All management cares about is making their bonuses. Managers constantly ring sales under themselves just so consultants will make less commission so the company doesn't have to pay. There is NO advancement what so ever. I have been told that they never ever promote within the store because the other workers would not respect you. However, they have managers that constantly call out, come in late, and do not even know a single thing and have to depend on the consultants for answers. Also there are NO raises. If you want a raise sell more that's their motto. This company is a complete joke. It is the Walmart of Bridal Salons.
