- Freindly reasearch environment. - Freedom to try new ideas - Opportunity to do PhD - Travel to conferences

Cons

Lower salaries compared to industry. Alot of bureaucracy You can not grow inside the company Very difficult to get permanent contracts

Pros

-Reasonable salary -Good life/work balance - flexible work time, many holiday days -DLR pays for personal development programmes including German classes

Cons

-It depends on the institute and group but most of the seminars and all the official e-mails and documents are in German so it can be difficult for non-German speaking researchers -No online access to many journals including Science! -Catine food isn't so great
