      Pros

      Compensation is top of market. All major practice areas have amazing talent across the country. If you are driven and focused you can build a practice doing exactly what you want. Only serious and committed attorneys, no room for slouches.

      Cons

      Depending on your location, your practice (and local partners) may not be a favorite of the larger practice group. Path to partnership extremely challenging and completely dependent on the circumstances in your location. What works in Boston and San Diego might not work at all in New York or Washington. 24/7 culture.

      Pros

      Don't see many - life balance ok.

      Cons

      Completely incompetent boss, with no clear vision of what we do and where we go as a team. The team is very volatile and even the cooperation between different offices is not working at all. Despite big proclamations.

      Pros

      The benefits are incredible and management is making moves to assure that the employees actually take vacation time. In my experience, the employees are generally treated well.

      Cons

      A law firm is made up of a lot of people including lawyers and support staff. Unfortunately the feeling seems to be that the lawyers make the firm. They seem to forget that the lawyers wouldn't be able to do their jobs without the support staff.
