Specifically within the IT Assurance/Audit practice Crowe falls short. The majority of the more seasoned managers, senior managers, and partners are only concerned about the amount of work they sell, with little interest in the well-being of the staff/ senior staff. IT Assurance/Audit does not offer the work-life balance as they say during the recruiting process. Even after talking with my colleagues at the Big 4 they were shocked with the hours we were expected to work. Upper management will pass down their responsibilities to the staff/ senior staff and use the term "learning opportunities" - this ultimately overloads the staff/ senior staff with extra work outside of their job description and working longer hours than needed due to manager ignorance. Projects are usually scheduled for one week at a time (sometimes two weeks) which is an inadequate time to perform an audit. Incredibly high turnover for a company that refers to themselves as a "better alternative to the Big 4". Upper management will often request feedback for improvement - but they will not take any of it into consideration and stick to what works for them and not their employees. Additionally, no bonuses for 1st year staff - which is a slap in the face compared to how much is expected of them.
