Crossover is one of the fairest workplaces in the world because we pay the exact same amount to workers in the same job, no matter where they live. But we set extremely high quality standards that aren't easy to attain – so it's not for everyone. Glad to see that you have thrived for three years and are overall happy.

Pay Range is Good

Pros

Pay Range is good Permanent Remote Work

Cons

Job application is totally automated and there is no human interaction if you require any assistance. A single CCAT test is used to assess eligibility for various roles, which is unfair

Providing permanent remote roles with high pay is our raison d'être so pleased to hear that you valued this. Part of the way that we've achieved this is by automating a lot of the process. This goes not just for recruitment, but also engineering, accounting... anywhere we find simple (often boring!) tasks that modern AI technology can replace the need for a human. In the case of recruitment, we believe it's actually better for applicants than traditional recruitment. Sure, it's a bit different... but it's remarkably democratizing because not only can people apply from anywhere on their own schedule – but it eliminates the opportunity for unconscious bias because our machines grade solely on the quality of the applicant's work, not their name, location, education – or any other personal factors. It's worth noting that applicants have the option to speak with a human after they pass the CCAT assessment, as we were all applicants ourselves once and do understand how useful this can be.

Sorry to hear that your experience wasn't positive. It's challenging and not everyone is suited to it. We wish you all the best.
