Pros

Kids and families that really love learning and want to work with you

Cons

Administration/ a corporate office that’s is actively working against you to maintain control. They preach freedom and independence but as a teacher you have none. Communication that is truly the absolute worst I have ever seen. You could be told three different things throughout one day, only to get accosted when you didn’t know which one to follow. Run 100% as a business first. No thought towards education unless they believe it can produce more income/ enrollment. Salaries that are laughable. (It’s a non profit so you can check top salaries online). Mind you top paid employees haven’t taught or even stepped into a classroom in years. Being shamed for having family emergencies/ taking any time off. Nepotism runs rampant Do not work here if you do not align with the political beliefs of the higher ups. Their Christmas “gift” is a subscription to a political magazine…

Pros

- generally great coworkers - PTO and sick days with easy to request time off - steady work - standard insurances with fair prices - 401(k) available but the price matching is a bit low at $0.25 per $1 invested up to 12% of your salary

Cons

- used to take 1 month to gain enough PTO for 1 day, and now it takes around 1.5 months to achieve the same - no bonuses - hardly any upward mobility unless you are a teacher
