Pros

Casper is a very cool brand to work for, and it's nice to have colleagues most of whom have a lot of experience in their respective fields. The engineering lab is doing really great work, and it's exciting to see what they come up with.

Cons

Too much time and effort spent on being unique (read: similar to Apple) to understand and learn from other ecommerce companies instead of reinventing the wheel. The company is too big to operate like a start-up or scale-up, but this isn't acknowledged. As a result everyone wants to do things fast but projects can actually take a long loooong time. Career progression depends on whether you're well-liked or not, and not on professional merit. Lots of VPs and directors but not enough operational resources.

Ghosted after interviews

Pros

Free mattress after 6 months of employment

Cons

I had three interviews which all went really well. During my final interview I was told I’d be notified on a decision by the end of the week. Which never came. I sent a follow up email to the recruiter, and still nothing. I completely understand if I wasn’t the right fit for the position. But it’s common courtesy to respond to a potential candidate rather than ghosting them. This was all incredibly unprofessional, and a waste of time. Setting up the interviews was like pulling teeth because the recruiter would respond so sporadically. One of the interviews was through video chat with the store manager. Who was late for the interview, and in their pajamas... in bed! The irony... Don’t waste your time with this place, very unprofessional.
