Good product to sell and work on. Very good benefits (insurance, employee scholar program) Many places to work all over the world

Cons

New management regime and leadership doesn't seem to get it. Lots of politics and red tape. Ability to individually effect change diminishes every day.

Pros

Pay, benefits, and work life balance are amazing. Room for advancement and growth are good.

Cons

Lots of red tape and rules, none of which is explained clearly. You can be doing your job for two years before someone tells you, you have been doing a certain process wrong. Also training does not really exist and Corporate is slow to make changes.

Carrier is part of a huge organization, United Technologies, which is very widely recognized and is a great name to have on your resume. United Technologies is a great supporter of continuing education and will sponsor employees to go back to school for additional education. They paid for me to go back and get both a masters degree and an MBA.

Cons

If you are not at the corporate level, this is a very easy organization in which to get lost. There are countless levels of management and Carrier is definitely an organization where talent is trumped by age and tenure.
