Pros

Enjoyed supporting the customers that soon became like family. Innovative DR technology.

Cons

* Deep breath* Lots of issues here, most of it cultural as many have commented. Pressure to generate fake NPS scores by coaching customers. Attempt to turn technical people into sales by taking advantage of the hard won trust that non commission field personnel built. Forced rankings that have never worked anywhere else but Carestream still uses it? HR is truly out of touch with reality or simply Machiavellian. Result? An atmosphere of fear and loathing. Team mates turn on each other, creativity and collaboration lost.

Pros

Impressive product portfolio. Most workers are hard working and talented. Making Money

Cons

Lack of revenue growth. Upper management are to a person focused on their own personal reward with personalities that make them primarily suck-ups, back-stabbers and in one case a likely psychotic (any one who ever worked there knows who this is....). None of this is a secret (even to Onex owners) but the CEO has the right to all personnel decisions and as long as you meet your numbers you are okay

Pros

A very strong and dedicated workforce. Most of their long term employees were educated and developed by the original Eastman Kodak Company which truly did invest in their employees.

Cons

It wouldn't be possible to list them all here. For those of you who may be deciding whether or not to apply for or accept a position at Carestream should know that they operate under management practices that were tested out (and failed) at other companies years ago. For example, Carestream uses performance management processes that companies like GE abandoned years ago because it backfired on them causing them to loose their top talent and retain their low end employees. For nearly a decade now Carestream has continued to operate like that, actually thinking that this is a good modern method to motivate employees. All that really is going on is managing people through fear and intimidation. Those who are marketable elsewhere are already gone or are in the process of moving on.
