Pros

Flexible work schedule, good benefits, employee purchase discounts, variety of cars to choose from, for the most part coworkers are good.

Cons

Constantly lowering of standards. The policy changes that have occurred in the past year seem to always hit the pockets of commissioned & hourly associates. Management seems to have very little respect for employees in all departments. The open door policy for associates is rapidly closing speak up or complain & you may find yourself quickly unemployed.

Very difficult to make a living wage in today's economy, general aloofness of sales management regarding sales consultants, those who work the hardest receive the lowest amount of proportional compensation

It used to be fun

Cons

Current LGM and ASM have zero management and people skills, micro manage all the time. Sales managers are lazy, arrogant and they favor certain sales consultant. CarMax is still paying $150.00 commission since the company was started.
