Greedy Company

Pros

The co-workers, benefits, and discounts are the best part.

Cons

New 'Omni' is designed to reduce consultants commission by 50% due to the 3-4 minute avg time invested by the newly 'hourly' employees. Where's the so called 10% increase going that the consultants who are now losing a lot of money each pay period going? According to one of our mgrs, it has created a 22% revenue back to the top. This thing is a disaster for those on commission!

Pros

They are flexible at times.

Cons

This company is a joke. Period. Unpaid mandatory training coupled with unpaid mandatory internet office hours will add up to 20 hours a week of unpaid time or more! On top of that, management is forced to micromanage by corporate and will constantly belittle and harass you the minute your monthly sales drops below standards. But wait, it gets better! If by chance you are lucky enough to get a customer to come in that conflicts with an internet office shift, you will be forced to split the sale. No exceptions. Put simply, you will be forced to work for free while losing a sale that you worked hard for. Overall, my advice to any aspiring sales consultants is run while you still have a chance.

Pros

Great people in the stores, a lot of hard-working people in the corporate office, but the management at corporate leaves much to be desired.

Cons

CarMax recently got a new CEO and he is a total boyscout with an accounting background and only cares about the bottom line. Refer to the cost cutting measures as a result of bringing in Boston Consulting Group. They also dropped a bomb about bonuses not getting paid a month before fiscal year end, but said 'I don't want anyone to feel disincentived.' That's a direct quote from a Vice President.
