Pros

The money was pretty good, and there are some intelligent people to work with. The work was moderately paced, and the company was not driven to get things done quickly. It was possible to transfer out of a department into another, though it was not easy. A lot of competition with other people, and a lot of politics are needed to get things done, though it seems that no one wants to take responsibility to get anything done.

Cons

Too warm and fuzzy, too vague on reviews, and inability of management to take care of people or know what is really going on. Management only seems to look to what senior managers want, or will do what will get them promoted.

Pros

Capital one has a very complete and relax work environment. It is competetive and at the same time provides great opportunites to succeed. The learning curve is step and you get to do a lot of value addition right from when you start work at Cap one.

Cons

The laid back environment can get to you at times and it feels like things ae moving real slow. Also if are looking for a faster carrer progression it is better to look into investment banking or something on the wall street. Also capital one locations are not great and hence it can be a pain at times.

Pros

You can get the training you need and take this elsewhere. Capital One overall is a huge company with many employees. My manager was very supportive and was a great manager in handling all aspects of my performance. We sat down weekly to discuss issues, concerns, new projects and all other things that my job encompassed. I fully enjoyed my job and was happy and content with it. Capital One does offer decent training programs for its employees and you can be rest assurred that if training is needed they will find a way for you to get it. Thanks.

Cons

The review process. You can be a top performer but since they base their decisions not on how you are doing, but how your are compared with others. Say you have 5 great people and they are all doing a great job, the Capital One system forces you to make one of them the worst of the 5 and have them put on a performance plan. It is a idiotic system. Of course C1 brainwashes you to believe that doing this makes the company perform better. to an extent this may be true, but I believe it causes more hardship and grief every year, when people are pitted against each other for their raise and job.
