Pros

Work at home. That’s about it.

Cons

*Training is way too long. Over a month. *Bad disrespectful management doesn’t care about employees * Literally on day one the training manager will talk to everybody like their prisoners and tell them that basically if they don’t like it, they can leave and that they don’t need us. * If you ask questions about moving up within the company, the manager will try to talk down to you and belittle you and make it seem like you don’t have the experience or qualifications that it takes. *Rude trainer that is racist and targets specific individuals. *Racist trainer tries to make people of color look dumb when they ask a question. * If you’re signed up to train with a specific trainer, that trainer will decide on the first day that they’re not gonna show up and gets replaced by a racist trainer that treats everybody like prisoners. * When you bring a complaint to a manager, they refuse to deal with it and either ignore your emails or just tell you to email HR, who is there only for the company and NOT the employees.

Pros

The ability to work remotely, PTO, education (free IT certification courses).

Cons

The job is constantly placing more responsibility on the CSRs. You are told to assist with: reviewing and explaining member benefits, claims (2 systems), preauthorization, appeals, rewards, provider search, verify providers in 3 systems, Medicare Allowed rates, grievances, complaints, and calling 3rd parties for members (billing depts, provider offices). You cannot transfer to claims, all calls must be warm transferred, and calls are dumped with no repercussions. Supervisors are not properly trained, team members have more knowledge, and favoritism is obvious. It is ok to like someone but if they are bad at their job (or they do not know the work, systems, or desk that you are working), it causes low morale. I would not recommend anyone for this job (unless they want to obtain an online education and get one year of experience to move on). If you are not friends with your manager, you have an abysmal chance to obtain a new role in or out of the department. The majority of the people I trained with are gone. There is a reason for the bonus (you will not receive the 2nd bonus for 6 mos and must stay one year or you will have to pay it back to Aetna/CVS).
