Best remote job I've ever had

Pros

Fair pay, good benefits, probably the healthiest and most supportive team I've ever worked for which is impressive for a remote/virtual role. Colleagues and supervisors are incredibly knowledgeable and skilled and genuinely care about the care they provide our members. Tons of flexibility which allows me to take care of myself and family. Supervisors genuinely care about their employees and really don't worry about hours worked as long as the work is getting done well.

Cons

Documentation is tedious, trying to stay in federal compliance can be a hassle if you're not organized and able to multi-task, members/clients can be unpleasant and may not want to work with you. Work can pile up for the next day you're in office if you have to take a day off unexpectedly. I sometimes get conflicting info on how to follow workflows which is stressful when compliance is in the balance.

Entry Level Job

Pros

The training is lengthy, they train you on the basics, benefits are ok, no phone use required for job.

Cons

Training doesn't teach you everything you need to know, only the basics, help is limited due to staff shortage, Supervisor doesn't know the job and can't help. They pay is not competitive and the amount of work you have to do is astronomical. They continue to pile on more work but no extra pay. The raises are a joke.

Pros

Working from home. I thought the starting pay of 18.50 was great until the training period was over and I started working at home.

Cons

In the position, you are doing everything from explaining benefits to the members, doing prior authorization related work, pharmacy technician responsibilities and even being a therapist for members that are calling just to scream at someone. You have to suck up negativity and don't have time between calls to deal with anxiety or go to the bathroom. You have to meet metrics. Customers scream at you every day and it is not made clear to them that you are the pharmacy, not the insurance company. Very micromanaged. They watch your screen and listen to your microphone at all times. Bathroom breaks don't exist. Everything is counted against you. You cant apply to other positions within the company if you have any corrective actions- even if they are the result of the stressful and toxic position. Excused absences don't exist. I got a point for being 10 minutes late to training due to a horrible accident that the supervisors were already aware of and it was never excused even though it affected half of the training class.
