Pros

Helping people when time allows. Great core staff. Employee discount. Fast paced and always different.

Cons

Cooperate management care about numbers not people. Company adds more and more tasks while reducing hours. Personal Patient care has declined drastically. Staff is overworked and under paid. Low salary leads to revolving and under qualified staff. Cooperate mentality means issues with hr are difficult to fix if they ever get fixed. This means a lot of "call _" who says "call_" who says "email _" and so on. Very little mobility Constantly working over time while under staffed.

Pros

Autonomy Decent pay for new NP grads You do not get paid Holiday pay for Christmas Eve, New Years Eve Clinics are open 7 days a week

Cons

Weekends (short staffed constantly so your asked for more all the time). Terrible work/life balance Management constantly changing the way tedious clinic tasks are charted, which complicates the 14 different usernames and passwords the NP already has. Sub-contracted schedule = the NP is required to meet a certain number of weekend days, Mondays & Fridays even if you have the PTO (and someone you’ve never met is managing your schedule (ie,. Life) Floating to clinics 1 hour+ from home (even though your home clinic may be open, they float NP’s to the busier clinics which makes for terrible continuity of care MC is moving more towards a family practice setting so your basically running the clinic on your own in the back of a CVS (even though they will say “goal is to double staff”- they never will/can due to high turnover 8 day training- new grads on their own with no support (complex system and disgruntled patients who have no patience to wait) Patients make their own appointments from home (timing is off- so if NP goes to lunch a bit later -patients show up angry that you are required to take lunch) All services are timed according to what administrators deem appropriate-so if the NP has a complicated patient (or service) too bad. The computer will continue to let patients sign in late
