Pros

Advancement oppurtunities are laid out vey well and a clear career path is shown to all employees.

Cons

You aren't encouraged to have a life outside of CVS and you are punished or admonished for choosing your personal life over your work life. You can be completely dedicated to your job durring the hours that you are at your job but if you don't eat ,sleep, or breathe CVS then upper management tends to have no use for you. the constant switching of supervisors leads to cofusion about just what is the priorites of your job. It changes with every upper management change. You get repromanded for things the privious supervisor thought were priotrities but the current supervisor does not. If you have the misfortune to have a supervisor that has no life and doesn't care if they don't spend time with their friends or family they tend to treat you as if you are lazy if you do want that time for things outside of the company.

Pros

One of the most favorable aspects of employment at CVS Health and Aetna is the flexibility in working hours. Certain members of the management team and supervisors demonstrate a high level of consideration for individual circumstances. For example, in cases where an employee is single or managing an illness, there is a willingness to collaborate and customize work schedules accordingly. Additionally, CVS provides tuition reimbursement for employees pursuing further education, contingent upon maintaining an average grade of A to B.Employees have access to a 401k plan and health insurance. Additionally, they have the option to purchase stock and pay for car insurance through their payroll using a third-party provider.

Cons

I hold the belief that the current entry-level remuneration for roles such as claim benefit specialist, senior medical billing, and patient advocate does not sufficiently align with the value of my education and experience. Therefore, I am formally requesting an increase of at least 70 cents per hour, with a preference for an increase of up to $1.00 per hour. Despite my tenure of 8 years within the company, my current compensation falls below the threshold of $25 per hour.

Pros

Great work life balance and practical business use cases for data scientists. Lots of opportunity for growth if young in career. Great business stakeholders, especially in Aetna business.

Cons

A&BC (the data science COE) is not a place for senior data scientists. Most in leadership positions are ex-Consultants (in fact, if you have McKinsey on your resume, you're a shoo-in for at least a Lead Director role) and have limited to no first hand data science experience themselves. The glass ceiling between data scientists and leadership is embarrassingly obvious, and most 'senior' leaders are way more qualified to lead their teams than the junior ex-consultants they report to. I wouldnt work in A&BC if you have more than five years data science experience, the org won't know what to do with you. Even better, just go work at McKinsey. You'll get paid a lot more to put up with your leadership's misplaced condescension.
