Pros

I enjoy working with the public and like working at CVS. CVS matches money put into and retirement IRA

Cons

I like working AT CVS, not FOR CVS. CVS does match your contributions to an IRA. But, for the most part, part-time employees get few benefits from this company. I was really excited when I saw a posting for scholarships for CVS employees's children - until I looked closer and it was only for full-time employees. We get no paid vacation and our employee discount is not good. I worked for Osco before CVS bought us out and we accrued vacation hours and receive a very good employee discount. CVS is just making more money off of it's employees instead of giving them a break.

Pros

Solid financially, good growth, good job security, good benefits, management is never satisfied and constant seeking improvement, very good technology, fun place to work generally.

Cons

a lot of work for the hours given and relatively low support to maintain efficiency, but service has not suffered too much and financial stability maintained so the poor situation continues. No real breaks unless mandated by law. State laws should require breaks for the health of the employees and job satifaction and customer safety. Management is never satisfied and always seeking improvement. Needs better technology in more locations. Management is piling on more and more tasks and there is too little time to accomplished them. Many employees are not really qualified to do their respective jobs. Many employees lack communication and basic skills they should have learned in high school, but trainers and management just want to rubber stamp accomplishments and training goals instead of having employee really demonstrate ability to conduct tasks repeatedly. Fun place to work generally, but there is such a thing as too much fun and teams are being overworked.
