Pros

Working at CVS, on the store level at least, can very much go either way. If you find yourself in store with decent management and good coworkers, it has the potential to be a great experience. CVS can offer a flexible schedule, laid back working environment, the opportunity to make wonderful personal connections with both coworkers and a bevy of customers, and if you're interested, you can learn a whole lot about pharmaceuticals.

Cons

The biggest problems you run into at CVS are usually caused by corporate. Initiatives are handed down to the store level, and despite apparently being successful in pilot stores, they frequently just aren't practical. Also, possibly the most discouraging thing about working at CVS is that if/when a customer takes issue with a policy and you stand firm, there will always be someone higher up willing to break the policy and make you look foolish in the name of customer service.

Corruption at its best.

Pros

There are no good reasons to work for CVS/pharmacy. Do not be drawn in by pay and benefits. This company is dishonest and highly politically charged. Technicians are poorly trained and even if the staffers want to do a good job they cannot the way the system is set up. CVS believes it is easier to pay off their mistakes rather than actually have a good work ethic and avoid them in the first place. Most people who work for CVS are people no one else will hire. Their attitudes are at the bottom of the cess pool. Avoid CVS if at all possible.

Cons

Disrespect. Dishonesty. Politically driven. No Integrity. Care only about numbers and nothing else. They operate all of theie stores on a skeleton crew. There customer service initiative is just a smoke screen. They only care about numbers so that those in management can get big bonuses. When customers call to complain, they just give them a bunch of crap about how they are sorry and will resolve the issue; the issues never get resolved. Benefits and pay are the best in the industry but you are a slave to the work. The company thinks you are part of their cult ; it's their way or no way.

Pros

The only reason why I work at CVS is because it is close to where I live. Furthermore, it doesn't require me to use any type of communications.

Cons

The managment sucks. They expect way too much of you and never wanna pay you just enough to keep you satisfied. You always have to way more than what your own department or position requires you to. For instance, I am the head cashier of the store that I work at. However, I mostly have to pick up the registers from the pharmacy or either process films in the photo lab which has nothing to do with my own position WHATSOEVER!!!
