The company is very top heavy (non-billable, high salaries coming off the bottom line). Employees that have billable time are stars at this point, but a soon as the employee becomes unbillable, the employee is put on WLI (not stars anymore), in other words "NO PAY." The use of vacation time (PTO) is required when looking for other opportunities within the company. When a project finishes the employee can feel as if they are on an island, stranded and deserted. The company is about who you know to get work, even after many years of employment (this might be changing).
On the Global mentality: the company is based in the USA and employee owned, yet it's next to impossible to get on an overseas project (other than Federal) for a USA citizen who is looking to stay billable.. this is due to company self imposed tax policies on US employees only. Also the company only wants non-US employees on there target overseas markets, unless your a Sr. Manager.
Really restrictive management control of Projects\Programs; HR runs the show, they have the ability to overrule Project\Program Mangers decisions even if these decisions benefit the Project\Program. HR, especially with regards to Americans overseas is unorganized and unknowledgeable..
Management seems out of touch with employees. Company preaches mentoring and ethics, yet doesn't really stand behind their words.
Management is not very proactive with clients, unless the company wants more work from the client.
