      Pros

      The work hours are fair, and so is the pay. This is a good place to widen your horizons and perspectives about China other than the western take most of us are exposed to.

      Cons

      Entry into China has become very difficult because of COVID; and there's a chance you won't be able to see family or head home for years.

      Regular pay, solid newsroom experience, good to develop understanding about China and stay on top of world news.

      Cons

      At least 5 months of (8 hour) night shifts in first year, lack of team culture. Poor morale. Sullen senior editors. Not enough copy editors to cover sick leave/ high turnover.
