      A Corporate Trope with lots of potential

      -Salary good w/ travel incentives (overtime, per diem) -Nice office space -Practical learning environment for Computer Sciences -Flight Simulators are fascinating machines and complex. Lots to learn.

      Cons

      -Overwork in field -Lots of travel (40-50%) -Comical corporate politics and doublespeak abound. Its like a Dilbert cartoon at times. -Selective implementation of employee feedback. “Yes-men” culture in full force. -You are a resource. Everything is driven by cost cutting, decisions never made in favour of those at the bottom of the totem pole. -No concessions offered for home office, and remote work is standard now. Get ready to spend to set yourself up.

      Pros

      Unique opportunity to learn about the flight training business. Young people are the majority in the team, thus good peer dynamics.

      Cons

      In the civil sector, always overworked(50-80hr/week) with frequent irregular shifts (8pm-6am) and on-call to adapt to different time zone. Technologies are outdated with a lot of IT restrictions for security purposes. Development is slow and relies heavily on government protection and market share dominance. Lack of growth opportunities both technically and career-wise. Due to the cyclical nature of the aerospace industry, the company focus on maximizing short term profit other than investing in employees for long term growth. Salary increase is about 2-3% annually.

      *The people at the technical level are awesome. *The products are very interesting and challenging.

      Cons

      *No respect for technical workers estimates and raised "red flags". *Impossible deadlines that everyone knows we won't make, then when the deadline arrives we don't hear anything of it and keep business as usual until its done. *They assume everyone technical is interchangeable, like a UI specialist can be transferred into flight models on a management whim,
